Scarf of Japanese tsumugi silk and antique American cotton

Scarf of Japanese tsumugi silk and antique American cotton

Long scarf with vintage Japanese tsumugi silk and an antique American cotton print. The silk is circa 1960s, a checkerboard pattern in red, black and chartreuse. It is pieced with a woven cotton print from the 1920s. The two fabrics meld beautifully, and both have a slight crisp hand. I strive not to waste even a scrap of these precious fabrics, with the charming imperfections. The scarf measures 68 by 6.5 inches, and is long enough to wrap.
